There are advantages to having a preschool teacher for a mom. On Thursday, I took my afternoon preschool class to one of the student's goat farm. They recently had 21 baby goats and invited us to come and visit. I was pretty excited about going. The bus (yes, I drive the short bus) is a 15 passenger bus. I decided to take along my 3 kids (Cameron was in school, of course) and my teaching assistant decided to bring her daughter. There are 10 students. You do the math...is doesn't equal 15, but we made it work anyway and had a great time. Ansley, Quentin, and Sadie were happy to get out of rest time at daycare and come along. The family had given me very simple directions, it was just outside of Bloomfield. After 2 (maybe 3) wrong turns, we reached our destination. Kids were very excited! They ran off the bus and immediately started petting the animals. The family had set up a small pen with 4 baby goats inside so that the children could take turns holding a petting them. Not only did they have goats, but they had rabbits, cats, pigs, and horses. There was even a colt that was less than 24 hours old. A great time was had by all. Great field trip!
