Ansley's First Competition
Saturday, April 28th was Ansley's first dance competition. We had so much fun! Daddy was at a fishing tournament and the other kids were with friends for the day, so it was just Ansley and I all day : ) We got up at 6am. She hopped right up, so excited! We had to be at Bloomington South High School at 8:30am - hair and make up done. We packed up her costumes, make up, curling irons, hair product, snacks, and drinks and got there ON TIME! This being our first competition, we really weren't sure what to expect. Each dance company (there were about 10 others besides ours) was given a dressing room. We have 85 girls in our company, so our room was pretty crowded. Wall to wall girls, costumes, make up, and excited girls! Ansley was in two dances. Her first was her poms routine, scheduled at 9:45. They did great! Ans was a little nervous since she had never danced in front of judges before. After she danced, we snacked and watched other dances. There were about 135 dances that day. Ansley LOVES watching!! At about 2:30, we started getting ready for her next dance. She had a different hair do and a different costume for her jazz routine. They did awesome!! Awards were at 5:30. Each dance is given a rating - platinum, high gold, gold, high silver, or silver. Both of Ansley's dances were awarded high golds! Afterawards came solo dances. Ansley insisted on staying and watching. We left BHSS at about 8:15pm. It was a long, exhausting day, but we loved it! Such a great mother daughter memory. It was a special day for both us.
