Up, Up and Away....
On Thursday, May 6th, I took my preschoolers to our local airport. They had all been soooo excited about going. I had gone last year and knew it was a fun trip. The man that shows us around has a real passion for airplanes and enjoys telling the children about them. Each student gets to sit inside the plane and "drive" and pose for a picture. He shows us around the airport and we get to look at a couple of the other airplanes. The kids love being out there! We even enjoyed a snack under the wing of this plane. Quentin is in my morning class and I was able to take Sadie along too. She fits right in with the preschoolers. We had a great time!
At 12:30, I went back again to take my afternoon class. This time, I was able to take Ansley. Again, the man showed us around, each child sat inside the plane, and we had a snack. BUT this time...he looked at me and said, "you're goin! Get in!". Surprised, I said, "ok!". I kissed Ansley and told her I loved her (I was a little nervous). Its quite the process to prepare for take off. And long legs and two seater planes don't exactly go together. Anyway, we took off and it was awesome! I loved every minute of it and felt completely safe. He had told us that he can get to Florida in 6 hours and I was all about it! The kids really enjoyed watching from below. We even swooped down by them a couple times. It was a lot of fun. I would love to do it again sometime. Who knew being a preschool teacher had such advantages!
