Waaaaay back in the fall, we started the "ticket program" as an incentive to get the kids to stay in THEIR OWN BED. If they stayed in their bed all night then they would receive a ticket. Once we received 250 tickets then we would get a puppy. The importance of the program came and went a few times, we kind of even forgot about it for a little while. A few weeks ago, we found out about some puppies in IL (a co-worker of Papa Kevin) and kicked the tickets back into gear. After much discussion, we decided to go for it and "order" the puppy. We counted the tickets and knew we needed more than possible to get to 250. Mommy went crazy offering double and triple ticket nights.....I was determined to get to 250 BEFORE the puppy came in order to prove a point so to speak. We made it!! By Thursday we had surpassed 250 tickets (the puppy was coming Saturday). We told the kids we would start talking about it and would get one soon. Early this morning, JR drove to Terre Haute to meet Grandma Rita (thank u!!!) and pick up our SURPRISE.
When Daddy got home we called a "family meeting". We talked about what we wanted to do for the day. After sitting and talking for what seemed like EVER, JR went and got the puppy and brought it up to surprise the kids. They were so excited!!! "thank you!!" "do we get to keep it?" "a puppy!!" "awwww" The looks on their faces were priceless.
She is ADORABLE and VERY loved! We've had a great day with her so far. Stay tuned for more stories about our little Pixie ♥
