Friday, May 28, 2010 TRACK AND FIELD DAY
Track and Field Day is a big event at Bloomfield Elementary. Each child in grades 1-6 participate in two events as well as some fun class activities. Grades 1-3 go in the morning and 4-6 in the afternoon. There are kids everywhere! Its hard to keep track of just where your child is. Tons of parents and grandparents (and aunts) come to watch. Quentin, Sadie, and I loaded up our chairs and drinks and went to the school at 8:30 on Friday morning and watched all the excitement. Aunt Melodie joined us too. We sat with some friends and the younger kids were able to entertain each other. Cameron's class played a balloon popping relay game before the actual events started. He participated in the hurdles and in the 100. He did great in the hurdle race and finished the 100 by sliding into finish. He didn't finish first, but did finish with a busted knee and elbow. Nevertheless, I'm proud of my 2nd grader!!!
